“JINN & JUICE” b-side
release date: September 27, 2018
“Jinn & Juice” is a b-side from The Warhorse’s upcoming sophomore record, due out mid-2019. It was released as part of Neo-LA’s NeoWave compilation, alongside other new music from Facexhugger, Street Cleaner, Gregorio Franco, Watch out for Snakes, MacReady, and many other synthwave heavyweights.
The song is about confronting and ultimately befriending the apparitions that commonly appear during sleep paralysis. If you've ever experienced the phenomenon, you know how terrifying those ominous black slendermen appear, but what if they aren't sinister? How do we know their intentions are malevolent? Maybe they're just looking for someone with which to share a beer and friendly conversation.
Following up on their “unlistenable” (Razorcake Magazine) debut album CHUBS, Los Angeles’ synthpunk duo The Warhorse is soon unleashing their sophomore full-length monstrosity. The new record takes their signature synthwave-tangential sound and pumps it full of the guilty pleasures of their youth, while (mostly) staying true to their nihilist-pop roots. “Jinn & Juice” offers a brief glimpse into The Warhorse v2.
NeoWave is available now, exclusively vid Neo-LA’s bandcamp page.
